I am getting ready to start my last week of not having a college degree.
Yesterday, I tweeted on my personal account that having a college degree is not truly a unique thing. That is true: think of all the people who have one. Think of all the people who are capable of having one. At the same time, I will be the first person in my family to have one. A twitfriend so graciously pointed out that, therefore, makes my degree very unique.
Yesterday, I also spent some time wandering around taking photos with a friend. We had a great time. She introduced me to a new area and I introduced her to one of my favorite areas. We started to discuss the wedding we are co-shooting on the 26th. I am going to try to rent a camera and lens for the wedding, just in case something happens to mine.
I know this is not my photography blog, so I am not going to wax poetic about photographic things, though I do want to address something else.
I am going to shoot with a few sets of friends this summer to get some haunting images out of my head. (They're haunting me, at least.)
And every time I listen to music these days a bazillion images pop into my head, so I intend on unleashing some of those. The list of songs keeps growing, as does the list of images.
Oh well. Just got to start, eh?
The week after graduation I am going to spend a week in Denver with my love. Yes, the fuzz bug is going along, too. It will be good for all three of us.
That will probably be the week I start my summer reading.
I cannot read recreationally when I am in school, so I cannot wait to start reading. There are a lot of books on my "To Read" list: The Hunger Games trilogy, several by Cormac McCarthy, a few by Stephen King (The Green Mile comes to mind), and that is just the beginning. Next week might be the perfect time to begin reading. Maybe borrow a few on my Kindle; maybe grab hard copies.
Before all of that comes, though, is this week.
Two photo showings, one per class; the last set of presentations; a memorial service for a distant family member; two doctors' appointments to figure out what next-steps family members should take; and then, of course, graduation on Friday.
What comes after graduation? After my Denvercation? After the wedding I'm shooting on the 26th?
Well, I plan on finding a job.
Know anyone who's hiring?
