So here it is, folks: your first full week of 2013. How's the new year treating you so far?
So far, for me, I have had the flu! Wonderful, right?
The aches haven't been too bad, it's been the weakness, the sleepiness, the cough and the stomach stuff that has worn me down.
I'm sure that working for five straight days --and attempting a sixth-- didn't really help with any of that either.
I think the flu shot I got at work helped to keep it scaled back, too; I've heard some people say that this year it's been keeping people that they know down for three weeks. (And not just the more susceptible population, though I think it depends on what strain you catch.)
As of the date of posting, I think I am better, though.
The only symptom I continue to have is a potential side effect from the antibiotic I've been on for The Cough That Won't Die.
I am thinking of changing my hair somehow. It's getting to be a bit too much to handle.
Maybe trim a few inches off, add in some choppy, long bangs. Maybe. The trim, yes, definitely going to happen, but the bangs...I don't know. There's something really rewarding in having hair all the same length.
I would love to get a manicure done at some point this year.
There: a goal. Grow my nails long enough to get a manicure. They were long for quite a while last year, but a mani was never a priority. This year, it is a priority. As a treat to myself.
Being cooped up inside for the last few days because of my required recuperation time has made me really want to start spring cleaning already.
And the light has reminded me of spring lately, too, so my annual wont of wanting spring to come early has kicked in already.
My love will be here tomorrow. =)
Thursday is his dad's birthday as well as a job interview (!) in Greeley.
Then that night we head to Denver because on Friday we are going to the Van Gogh exhibit at the Denver Art Museum. Saturday I return to work for the first time since The Incident, so I'm going find out how easy public vomiting is to live down.
