...but enough of that. =)
This month is over, as far as I'm concerned. 2013 has not made a good impression on me thus far. Well, if by "good" you mean lasting, then ok, yes it has. If you mean "good" as in opposite of bad, then...no, this year has not been good to me so far.
I was going to make one of those jars that is all over Pinterest about writing down all the good things that happens over the year and then reading them on NYE. I don't know why: I have a grand total of seven things written down so far. (I haven't gotten the jar just yet -- it's still packed away in a box from The Move last year.)
- I started the year off employed.
- The Van Gogh exhibit at the museum was awesome.
- I had an awesome maternity session with a dear, 20-year friend of mine.
- Dessert with a couple of friends.
- Bailey got her own leash and totally made me happy for hours.
- Found out my cousin's twins are boys.
- Got to be a second camera at another wedding with my friendtographer.
That's it. That's all the good that's happened this first month of 2013.
If this were a jar to remember all the bad stuff, it would be full by now.
Well, ok, maybe not full-full, but definitely 1/4 full.
1/4 full, 1/12 of the way done: something doesn't seem right here.
Enough conjecturing and pessimism. I have a good feeling about February.
Sure, it's typically the coldest month around these parts, but I am disregarding that.
Maybe it's because I love Valentine's Day.
Maybe it's because I know that I get to see my love a few days this month.
Maybe it's because I have my fingers crossed for a new job.
Maybe it's because I know that I get to see my love a few days this month.
Maybe it's because I have my fingers crossed for a new job.
Or maybe it's because it's the shortest month of the year and how bad could it be, really, when compared to January?
- Threw up.
In public.
At work.
Right in front of the doors. (Awesome.) - Got diagnosed with influenza. (See Item #1.)
- Slid on ice and bent my wheel on the curb.
The damage done --new wheel and necessary alignment-- caused me to be overdrawn in the bank for the first time in years. - Found out that one of my cousin's twins is not as healthy as the other. (No more details will be shared here.)
- 13 hours one week, 18 hours the next.
- Got reminded several times every
weekday that things currently suck in this house.
But no, seriously: I have a feeling that something good will happen in February. Something that will start to bring about change for the better.
I hope it's accurate.
