'Tis the Season

We are two gifts away from being done. Two.
One of them we have an idea for, but the second one...we have no idea. (That is within our budget, at least.)

I have a scheme for wrapping this year. I have everything I need. (And how great is it that I'm going to be including matching-ish greeting cards along the same lines as the gifts?) Yes, I know, I'm a dork.

I turned up my headphones and churned out 12 Christmas cards two nights ago. Woohoo! That is the single most productive day I have ever had for making cards. (And I think it was all done within the span of four or five hours.)
More days like that I can open my Etsy store. For serious.

I turned my personal Twitter account back to public today.
I figured it was probably a good thing with my huge background check coming up soon.
I have nothing to hide.

I am really looking forward to mailing that massive packet of stuff to the investigator today.
I just have to figure out who my boss was when I worked at the Tribune and also how much I made. (It was eight years ago, and I don't remember.)

I also don't remember the name of my supervisor at the daycare center, or what I made when I worked there. (Or really when I worked there.) And they don't keep records on substitutes. Great. Oh well. I tried!
My manager's name at Wendy's escapes me, too, but I remember her first name was Kim.
Oiy.

It kind of bothers me that I have had a bunch of jobs since I was eighteen.
Three of them are ongoing and one of them was a volunteer position, but still.
And if you count the first one I had when I was fifteen, that's another one to add to the list. (The second job I had when I was fifteen lasted until I was eighteen, so it's already included on the list.)

But that's okay. At one position, I was there for three years. For another, I was there for five and a half. And with my photo one, the one where I'm working for myself, I have been doing that one officially for two years. So I have staying power.

I just hope that I can survive the rest of this week.
Work for seven hours tonight.
Errands, assisting with a photo shoot, and helping to make photo booth props tomorrow.
Wedding on Saturday.
Work on Sunday and Monday.
Christmas on Tuesday.
...but then I get three days off, so I can catch my breath at least! =)

Tis the season to be busy!
(Fa la la la la, la la la la.)

Expectations

What is it with expectations in this society? As a student of anthropology, I am convinced it's a part of our culture. That being s...
