Certainly Uncertain

Death and taxes are the only certain things in this life, which means I have got to stop using the word "when" when speaking about things I want to happen in my future life and replace it with the word "if."

So instead of saying, "When I have a place of my own, Bailey won't get as many human-food tastes as she does here and will get the proper nutrition from her dog food," I will instead say, "If I have a place of my own..."
And instead of saying, "When I have a set work schedule, I can make a regular exercise routine a priority," I will instead say, "If I have a set work schedule..."

...because --let's face it-- those are dreams only a prince can afford these days.

Every thing I have tried to do to get ahead these last few months -- every professional position I have applied for -- has turned out to be a big disappointment.

I don't want to get pessimistic, but it's really getting heartbreaking to dream.
