There were other blogs started that were supposed to go in the gap between the previously published one and this one, but seeing as how none of those were finished for various reasons, this will just have to suffice.
For the first time in my life, I have been evacuated from my home.
The river that runs behind my house rose and breached -- when I left, I was wading through knee deep water. One of my hopes is that the water didn't rise enough to damage or float the house, and that the pony was able to get to dry ground.
The thing that pisses me off is that we were never officially evacuated. (And if the call / notification happened after we left, it would have been nearly impossible to pack, load the dogs, and tend to my handicapped father and still have enough time to safely drive away.)
But, for now, we are safe. And dry.
Scattered, but safe and dry.
